Why Project Controls Resources
Throughout his career, Dewayne has worked with organizations where the pattern is always the same: they implement enterprise PM software, use 20-30% of its capabilities, discover gaps, then cobble together 3-5 additional tools to fill them. Behind this fragmentation are deeper problems—broken or non-existent processes, underdeveloped project management and controls staffing, and teams without expertise to manage change. The result: disconnected data, manual workarounds, and millions wasted on tools that don't integrate. This insight led to the creation of Project Controls Resources—combining diagnostic audits, flexible staffed expertise, and modernized tools that solve the root problem, not the symptom.
Our Mission
Project Controls Resources helps organizations modernize how they manage projects by diagnosing fragmentation, building specialized expertise, and delivering tools that actually work in the real world.

How We Deliver
We've spent 20 years managing projects in the field, not just analyzing them from an office. This means our recommendations are grounded in the realities of execution: remote site constraints, stakeholder complexity, real-world budget and schedule pressures, and the gap between what enterprise software promises and what actually works.
We also bring proof that solutions work: we've developed and implemented custom project controls systems for clients, proving our approach goes beyond theory to deliver results.
Our Vision
A future where project controls teams have the right tools, the right expertise, and the right approach—without being forced to choose between expensive enterprise software or expensive full-time staff.
We're building a world where organizations can:
- Run projects with modern, purpose-built tools (not spreadsheet nightmares)
- Access specialized expertise on-demand (not permanent overhead)
- Manage projects like modern enterprises do (with visibility, data, and agility)
This vision informs everything we're building: consulting services that diagnose real problems, staffed expertise that delivers results, and tools that modernize how projects are controlled.
How We Approach Work
Fix the Root Problem
Surface-level solutions create long-term problems. We diagnose the actual issue: tools, process, expertise, or capability, et cetera. Then we solve for that.
Data Drives Decisions
Opinions are cheap. Objective data about spending, utilization, gaps, and ROI should guide decisions.
Flexibility Over Inflexibility
Organizations shouldn't hire full-time employees for variable needs. We provide specialized expertise when you need it, for as long as you need it.
Implementation Over Theory
Recommendations mean nothing without execution. We don't just advise; we staff your projects, deliver results, and build your team's capability.
Long-Term Thinking
Consulting work validates market needs. Staffed engagements reveal what organizations actually need. Both inform better solutions.
Transparency
Clear communication about what's working, what isn't, and why. No hidden agendas. No recommending expensive solutions when cheaper ones exist.
